So I found myself at an open mic this week. It was my very first open mic. Holy fuck. I’m totally doing comedy ass-backwards, aren’t I?!

So I’m sitting there sipping slowly from my over-priced coffee surrounded by people who have been plugging away at the scene for years, just listening to their stories and taking all of it in.

I’m thinking to myself, “I’m just some asshole who started telling jokes on Twitter. I have no business being here. My very existence is an insult to real comedians.”

As I sat there stewing in my own insecurity, I overheard one of the comics say this:

“I’m gonna try a new joke tonight. I tweeted it earlier, and @donni starred it, so I know it must me good!”

Oh, fuck, we’re all assholes, aren’t we?
